The Leather Retreat

Build a Traditional Crossbody Bag

with G.B. Davis

The Workshops of G.B. Davis

October 16–18, 2026

Noblesville, Indiana

Spend three days immersed in the traditions of hand-crafted leatherwork in the historic workshop of G.B. Davis in downtown Noblesville, Indiana. Working with premium leather, solid brass hardware, and traditional hand tools, you'll build a classic crossbody bag designed to serve for decades.

Whether you're new to leathercraft or looking to refine your skills, you'll receive personal instruction in every step of the process—from layout and cutting to stitching, burnishing, and finishing. Class size is intentionally limited, allowing time for individual attention, conversation, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from making something well.

You'll leave with a beautifully crafted bag, a deeper understanding of traditional leatherworking, and the confidence to continue making long after the retreat has ended.

Why Noblesville?

For nearly forty years, Noblesville has been my home. It's where I built my studio, taught generations of students, and became part of a community I care deeply about.

During your retreat, you won't simply attend a class—you'll experience this town as my guest. I'll point you toward my favorite coffee shop, recommend the best places to eat, share a few local stories, and introduce you to the businesses and people that make downtown Noblesville such a special place.

The workshop doesn't end when we put down our tools for the day. Enjoy a walk through our historic downtown, explore locally owned shops and restaurants, then return the next morning to a working artist's studio ready for another day of making.

You'll leave with a handcrafted leather bag, new skills, and, I hope, a connection to a community you'll want to visit again.
