(June 18) Introduction to Bookarts in Noblesville

$270.00

“We took this workshop last fall. It was awesome! Geoff is a great teacher - he guided us all to create amazing books. We are now using the skills we learned that day.”

Sharon and Jerry, Grant House Press, East Chatham, NY

Note - This class always sells out. Enroll early!

In this hands-on workshop, students will learn to fold, sew, and paste to build five varied and interesting bookforms including: pamphlets, two variations of star books, accordion books, Japanese stab bindings and a simple codex. We will also explore several additions and variations to make these books more interesting and useful. Students should gain enough experience and knowledge to confidently explore book design and building to create unique and interesting gifts, journals, or to publish their own work.

Each class begins with a lesson in which students build a book structure from prepared materials. The remainder of the time is dedicated to students creating a similar structure semi-independently.

This is a skill-focused workshop; you will leave with many different books. Several will be on boards (hard back).

All materials will be supplied.  Participants are encouraged to bring printed scraps, cards or labels to personalize their work.

Class runs on six Tuesdays beginning, June 18 from 6:30 - 8:30

Class size: 7
All levels welcome! No experience necessary.
Ages: motivated 14 year-old and over.
