________

Boston Terriers have long been a part of our family. It began over 100 years ago when my great grandfather bred them in the kennel behind his veterinarian's office in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We had our dear Freddy around for years. Two rescue Boston Terriers are part of my youngest daughter's busy household.

This little guy (or gal) is carved and assembled from white pine. It has alert leather ears and a characteristically stubby rolled and sewn leather tail. It stands on a green-black painted base and rolls on pewter wheels. There's even a vintage brass label holder to insert a name.

The finish on this pup and the base have a beautiful crackled velvety patina that is unique to my work. It's really something special and makes this piece one of my best ever.
