Nesting Box and Dominicker Chickens

337.00

Some people show dogs and some folks show horses. My girls showed chickens! We kept a large and interesting flock for over 25 years.

Though the flock is gone -- city ordinances took care of that -- I still have an affinity for poultry. The Dominickers (Dominiques) are considered America's first breed and are the ancestor to the popular barred rock.

Three hens and a rooster occupy these nesting boxes made from a vintage cheese box. The piece is my interpretation of a vintage barnyard toy.

Each bird is carved from pine and mounted on a pine base, Brass pins for the eyes and paper the combs. The box comes with fresh shavings so the brood will be snug in their nests.

10 3/4"w x 4"t x 4"d

Each of my pieces are original and handmade. I've spent over 30 years developing the unique finishes that are applied to this piece. It not only looks great, you'll want to handle it as well.

As always, shipping is free in the continental U.S.
